LOS ANGELES–The USC Armenian Alumni & Graduate Students Association (AGSA) held its 4th Annual Gala Dinner Dance & Live Auction on January 20 with unprecedented results. Over 600 young Armenian professionals and youth came together to raise over $25,000 and to celebrate their friendship and unity. Among the honorable guests [was/were] Professor Dekmejian from the USC Institute of Armenian Studies–Mourad Topalian–executive director of the Armenian Culture Fund–and Patrick Shahijanian–president of the Armenian American Chamber of Commerce. Mark Geragos was the honorary speaker and live auction MC.
The USC AGSA consists of young Armenian Professionals whose goal is to increase networking among Armenian youth and to overcome the generational gap between up and coming young professionals and the more established–successful older generations.
Proceeds from this year’s gala were donated during the USC AGSA’s Awards and Networking Lunch–which took place February 4. The AGSA Executive Board presented checks to the Yerkir USA Foundation for $5,000; State Engineering University of Armenia–$5,000; and the Glendale-Ghapan Sister City Association–$5,000. The AGSA also proudly contributes annually to the Armenia Fund–the Armenian Bone Marrow Registry–and the USC Institute of Armenian Studies.
USC AGSA executives urge all Armenian youth–organizations–and professionals to take part in their events and also welcome opportunities to collaborate and conduct joint events with other organizations.
